In this series, I’ll be working my way through Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea works and analyzing her prose chapter by chapter. Spoilers follow.
Chapter 2: Palaces
Length: 31 pages
Setting: Havnor
I am quite enjoying this novel. I think I like it more than Tehanu, but I don’t have much to say about this chapter. I do like how Le Guin introduces fault and obstacle and room for development to Lebannen, a previously finished character. Of course our nigh perfect king rankles when he feels he’s been backed into a marriage.
I’m sorry I don’t have more to say right now, but we’re getting back on track.
Until next time.
