100 Days of Anime: Day Thirty Seven – More Anime Resources

After spending most of a week researching and writing a brief history of anime post-by-post, I’ve decided to work on building up a little bit of buffer for the blog. A lot of the posts I have planned for the remainder of the blog are heavy duty, and I need some time to research. The next few days will feature more lightweight stuff in the interest of researching, writing and watching more stuff.

Early in this challenge, I made a brief post about some resources I’ve used for finding and watching anime. After nearly 28,000 words, I’ve found a few more useful tools.

The reason I’m writing this post (besides the stuff I wrote in italics up there) is to share because.moe. Type in the name of an anime, and if it’s available on a streaming platform, because.moe will tell you. I’ve already used this tool a few times, and if you’ve got a specific anime in mind, it’s a lot simpler than trying to figure out where something is available based on Google results.

Now, if you’re looking to buy some anime, long-time distributor Right Stuf often has great sales on their store. I’ve known about Right Stuf for a long time, but I hadn’t really thought to include it here before. Recently, I’ve been trying to find some things on the cheap, and Right Stuf is generally my first stop.

If, like me, you’re looking to get anime and manga for cheap, the Broke Otaku Twitter account is a must follow. Friend Sawcy introduced me to the account in just the last few days. It’s good stuff.

I also stumbled across this great list of anime streaming services while doing research the other night. It was updated just two weeks ago, and it’s got quite a few things I haven’t heard of before. I haven’t had a chance to check out Yatta-Tachi beyond that list, but it looks like a cool site.

Speaking of websites, I’ve been checking Anime News Network a couple of times a day just about every day since the start of the challenge. It’s a great resource, and I’ve used its encyclopedia and older articles for research several times.

This is the shortest article I’ve written in quite a while, but that’s all I’ve got. I hope these resources are as valuable for you as they have been for me. Until tomorrow.
